Horticulture Park in Khagrachhari District
Bangladesh is not so much hilly. Most of the part is even here. Only 3 districts out of 64 districts are termed as hilly districts in Bangladesh. There are another ¾ districts which is hilly but not that much like those three. **Khagrachari** is one those three districts. There is a horticulture park in this district which is also called the national park of this district. Main attraction of this part is its **hanging bridge**.
It’s a manmade park beside the hilly part of the area of the district. It’s not a new tourist attraction because its newly reformed couple of years back. Other tourist places like **Alutila Cave, Dighinala Waterfall, Resang Waterfall, Tareng, Buddist Temples, Mong King’s Palace, Some lakes, Tea estate etc** are primitive tourist places of this district. I have visited those as well. I shall share those place visit experience soon one by one. In the duplication of hanging bridge in **Kaptai (part of another hilly district, Rangamati)**, a hanging bridge has been set up in the middle point of the park. That why in a short travel, tourist can experience the beauty of hanging bridge here near the city area with less effort and time. It was set up by the park authority. It’s a government owned park. There are some other attractive places like Kids playground, Party place, Snacks stall, watch tower, natural tree garden, etc. The top place offer a nice view of sunset. From the watch tower, the beautiful hilly areas of this beautiful district of Khagrachari can be easily seen.

Location of the Park
The horticulture park is situated at the center part of the mainstream city of the hilly district of Khagrachari, Bangladesh. The location of this district is in between 22°38' and 23°44' north latitudes and in between 91°44' and 92°11' east longitudes.
Ways to Travel and Residence Facilities
You can easily find bus or micro bus or private zeep for travelling from Chittagong to Khagrachari. You need to talk to the vehicle first about the places you want to visit. As I mentioned earlier this place is near the city area. You can talk to them if you like to visit other areas of the district at the same time. There are some beautiful resorts here in the area. So travelling is very convenient here in this natural beautiful hilly district of Bangladesh. You will find some quality restaurant here like **System Restaurant** which is offering varieties of foods along with local favourite dishes.
If you like to come from Dhaka (**The capital of Bangladesh)** then you need to pick Bus. Bus is the best vehicle to travel Khagrachari from Dhaka. You will not have any flight or train there. But you can arrange microbus or zeep also. Thus, it’s great to travel from Dhaka as well. Chittagong has an international airport as well.
You can get some tourist guide or can contact with travel agent to get some advice as well. So, I think those who are nature lover, likes to stay some days in hills should come here to visit.
My Journey Experience
I was passing very relaxed time then. Some of my friends and juniors have offered me to travel this nice district with them. Another time I have visited the tourist places of the district, that’s why they offered me so that I can act as a guide to them as well. As I was relaxed in the summer, so grasp that opportunity to travel with them.
It was early in the morning when we started our journey. They came from Cumilla and i have joined them from Chittagong (Currently Chattogram). Khagrachari District is belongs to Chittagong Division. We meet in the junction or entrance point of Khagrachari district that is Baraiyarhat. In that place we had a break and had our breakfast. It took about 2 and half hour to reach to the Horticulture park.
Most of the things of the park was very pleasant and interesting. We had experienced hanging bridge very first time. It swing when people come across the bridge. This is not as big as the main hanging brindge in Rangamati. As i mentioned that its a replica of that bridge. But its beautiful. Because under the bridge there is a man made lake with some water based plants.
We entered at the noon thats why there were a few number of tourists there. Normally tourists come there in the afternoon with family members, and couple to view the charming beauty of that park. After capturing the hanging bridge we turned to watch tower to see the natural beauty of the whole hilly district of Khagrachari from the top of the watch tower. Its very nice view of the city surrounded with hills and trees. We have captured some photography there as well. Under the sharp sunlight everything was clearly visible. We have enjoyed a lot with such kind of view because that was very first time for most of us.
We had a look and walk through the park like canteen, playground, horticulture area. Different types of trees have been planted here to make it a nice garden.
It was a wonderful, enjoying and very much memorable journey to all of us. We spend some quality time which is not forgettable until death.
