What an incredible time of year to be in Vermont. When I'm not leading adventure tours around the world, I am home with my family in Stowe, Vermont or Kihei, Maui. Not a bad couple of places for kids to grow up. It really is the best of two worlds. We love the tropical weather and ocean full of marine life at our doorstep in Hawaii, but we also love the seasons in Vermont.
And this may be one of the best fall seasons I can remember. The foliage is lighting up at the moment. Oranges, yellows, reds, and more. It looks like the mountainsides are ablaze with color. One of the best places to see this event is on the slopes of Mount Mansfield, Vermont's tallest peak. This is where the Stowe Ski Resort is located.
As we were driving under the mountain, through the famous 'Smugglers Notch', I was shocked to see that snow was starting to fall. It was so heavy that it started to cover the trees. I've never seen the fall turning of the leaves coincide with the first snow of the season. So I had to pull over and get a picture of Mount Mansfield, alive with color, and covered in snow. I hope you enjoy the photo tour of my town.
Once every few decades do you see a photo like this. Fall changing of the leaves coupled with the first snow of the season.
Just look at these colors. I did not even touch a filter on the camera, no editing involved!
Impromptu stop at a local farm roadside pumpkin patch.
Famous view of Stowe, VT in all of her beauty.
And to finish it off with a beautiful panorama of downtown Stowe, VT.
Happy Autumn from Vermont,
