Seriously, Maine! It's only July!! There is always natural beauty decorating the Northern part of Maine, but, this is a fluke as the majority of it is still green. September brings on the kaleidoscope of color and the throngs of people for the annual leaf peeping!
Today is #treetuesday initiated by @old-guy-photos! Let's see those trees! If you post one, be sure to link it here
This was the view from the ferry that runs between Bar Harbor and The Schoodic Peninsula. This really did not do it justice, but, it was pretty early this morning and the sun almost didn't have a chance to shine. I have taken it to Winter Harbor, which is actually my preferred place of peace and tranquility in Acadia National Park. But, for today, Bar Harbor it is. The temperature is a nice 68 degrees Fahrenheit or 20 Celcius, but the temperature will climb higher as the day wears on.
Mount Desert Street Cemetery is also known as "The Village Burying Ground" and was established in 1790. Sea Captains, wives, children... The stones are almost all white and different shapes, all very eclectic. I walk through and read some of the inscriptions and notice the typology, so very interesting. Some I understand and the others I am taking pictures of so that I can look them up. I don't recognize some of the symbols.
It is located between the Congregational Church and Episcopal Church right there in downtown Bar Harbor.
Of course, there are lobsters here. It is all about the lobster! However, look beyond the lobster to the background. A sea of green.
Oh, yes.
I am running out of time, so I will end it here, but, I hope you enjoyed walking about with me here in Bar Harbor, Maine. I am sitting in the park with my free wifi putting this post together. Thank you, America. Land of the free. :)
