Today is #MarketFriday initiated by @dswigle (Denise, that's me!!) I hope you will join me as we share different markets across the globe. Every week, I look forward to seeing what you will send me and I am always happy to see so many different places from around the world.
Selling in a market that is foreign to me, shopping in places I have never been to and some, never even heard of? Oh! The curiosity that is attached to foreign ingredients, different produce or any product sold. So, yes! I would love to see yours! Don't forget to take photos wherever you happen to be shopping - whether it be the grocery store, local marketplace or even an art gallery. Wherever money is exchanged for a service or for merchandise. Be different if you wish! We will love it! I promise you! Don't forget to use the hashtag #MarketFriday and @dswigle.
Please leave the link to your post on here so it can easily be found by others. They will all be in one place. Where else can you take such a quick trip around the globe? Thank you! ❤
So, I am still traveling at the moment, on and around the beautiful island of Bermuda. Bermuda is a British Overseas Territory and is only 22 miles long and 1 mile wide, the nearest neighbor being 1236km (665 miles) Cape Hatteras, North Carolina is the closest and is to the east-southeast direction.
I will go on record as saying that Bermuda is one of my very favorite places to visit, it has the perfect subtropical weather with a nice ocean breeze. Oh! Feel the medicinal effects of perfection! Paradise to be exact.
This is the Royal Navy Dockyard. It was a symbol of British military power for over 150 years until the Royal Navy left Bermuda in 1951. Today it is still one of the most popular spots to visit and has a wonderful array of restaurants, shops and museums decorating the landscape. Follow me and we will do a little shopping. I will give you the broad view of the Dockyard.
Hello? Hello?? Are you ready for #MarketFriday? Right this way! I know we will find something awesome today!
I went to the Jon Faulkner Gallery and Paint your own Pottery Studio. If you want to go there, it is located at 7 Camber Road, Royal Naval Dockyard, BM 01, MA MA01, Bermuda.
The owner and artist, Jon was throwing pottery when I walked in. There was a live feed so you could see what he was doing, up close and personal. It was interesting to have a gallery and a paint your own pottery sharing the same space.
I will be the first to admit that his pieces are not cheap, however, they certainly were unique. I have one piece that I am pretty sure will be coming home with me.
The pieces are made by the owner and five other artists, so they vary widely and each is truly a unique piece of art. His kiln is handmade, something I have never seen and I thoroughly enjoyed roaming through his shop.
Did I say that he had unique pieces?
Not exactly my cup of tea, but, they are an interesting conversation piece.
The shop has such a peaceful feeling to it. I love wandering around, pausing to greet yet another piece presented by this talented artist

Salt Glazed Beauty
Jon told us that he built the kiln and it is a salt glaze kiln. He fires it right there on site and uses recycled waste vegetable oil.
You too can enjoy the beauty of your very own handmade salt glaze pottery piece.
If you want a different adventure for your day, you can experience the pleasure of customizing your own piece and painting it in the classroom.
Pick your piece and then paint it and Jon will fire it for you. You too can be the artist for a day. Or two.
There is anything you could ever want! Bowls, Plates and even containers to put flowers in.
Thank you for visiting the Gallery of Jon Faulkner. If you ever get to Bermuda, look him up. You won't be sorry! If you just like what you see, he will ship to you! :)
Much appreciation for following and reading #MarketFriday! It is such a great pleasure to see all of you again!
