Hi. In this travel post, our group check out one of the Muslim & African food areas in Guangzhou, China. We visit the interesting Xiaobei area.
Getting To Xiaobei
In the previous post, our travel group was doing some wholesale clothing shopping at the Guangzhou Railway Station area. Xiaobei station is one stop away on the red line 5.
Muslim & African Area In Guangzhou, China
When you exit Xiaobei station, head to exit D. You should see this wall with a McDonalds logo.
Across the street there is a large Turkish restaurant. In this Xiaobei area there are quite a few middle Eastern restaurants.
There are also a large group of Africans residing in Guangzhou, China. Africans and Muslims are here in Guangzhou, China for living and for doing business and trade. Note that China and African nations do a lot of trade.
Getting to the Muslim street food area was kind of tricky. At first, I led the group the wrong and long way to the Muslim street food area. You should actually go the other way when you exit the exit D part of Xiaobei metro station. Then you go under a bridge on the right and straight through.
You are in the right area if you see this Adana restaurant and this Ice Cream place. The ice cream here tasted bland to me. Maybe it did not have too much sugar as it was truly natural ice cream.
I wish I took more pictures here to showcase the variety of different shops and restaurants. Here they are.
One thing to note is that you have to watch the cyclists on this road. Some zoom by you without much notice. Just watch your surroundings as you visit this interesting Xiaobei area.
