From Guangzhou To Hangzhou, China

From the high speed train ride, our travel group arrived in Hangzhou at near midnight. It was really late in finding a hotel and dinner. The long story short was that the taxi driver eventually found a hotel and there was a late night restaurant nearby for 1 AM dinner. As a travel tip do buy instant noodles for the train as the trains do provide warm water. The warm water can be used heat and cook your instant noodles for you to eat on the train. Also it was my mistake at not being proficient enough with Trip.com.

Here are some pictures of the hotel and the late night dinner which featured fish.

West Lake Tourist Attraction

The taxi driver from the Hangzhou train station in the previous evening was hired to drive us to Hangzhou's West Lake. We paid extra to have him as our designed private taxi driver for the day as well as the next day.

West Lake (Xihu) in Hangzhou, China is a very famous tourist attraction here. We visited the eastern part of the West Lake. The other sections of the lake such as the Broken Bridge were not visited. This lake is huge. Cost is free.

Here are some pictures of the lake and the surrounding area.

You have to be careful with a few of the bridges as there are no railings. Watch your step. The area is filled with many trees, shops, restaurants and many people waiting for a boat ride at one part of the lake.

It is not shown here but there are people who take wedding photos here. This place is that beautiful.

Leifeng Pagoda Was Too Busy

Leifeng Pagoda is another big tourist attraction in Hangzhou, China. When we got there the place there was super busy with a huge lineup. This was around late August 2024. It would be better to visit outside of the summer months when it is not so busy and hectic.

I have pictures but those are personal ones. So no pictures of Leifeng Pagoda area sorry.

If I were to visit Hangzhou again I would go on a less busier time as well as outside of summer months. The weather there was around 35 degrees Celsius. Not as bad as Dubai summer weather but still very hot.
