For this weeks Show Us Your California Contest by @socalsteemit I'm gonna take you on a hike up a beautiful canyon here in Southern California...
Monrovia Canyon!!
Monrovia Canyon is (as the name implies) a canyon just north of Monrovia, CA in the San Gabriel Mountains. The canyon is part of an 80 acre nature park, run by the City of Monrovia since June of 1911. There is a fee to enter the park of $5 on weekdays and $6 on weekends and holidays. The park features hiking trails, two large picnic areas, a Nature Center, and a rentable Cabin/Conference Center.
I headed up into the canyon for a fun day of hiking. I paid the fee and headed up the road to the trailhead. We started at the nature center and hiked up the trail to Monrovia falls, a beautiful little waterfall nestled in this small but beautiful green lush canyon.

We hung out at the falls for a while then we headed down canyon through all the huge Oak and Alder trees and then climbed up the Cunningham overlook trail up the west side of the canyon to the small bench on the overlook.

After enjoying the view for awhile we headed back down through the canyon and hung out in the trees for a bit before looping back around to the nature center where we began!
