Hello dear connoisseurs,

today I would like to introduce you to a pastry shop that was founded in Weilheim in 1868.

The beautiful town of Weilheim is located in the Upper Bavarian foothills of the Alps. By car it takes only a little more than an hour to reach the Zugspitze, the highest mountain in Germany.

Leopold Krönner was the founder of this pastry shop in Weilheim 150 years ago and with his confectionery products such as cakes, tarts, sweets, chocolates, pralines and liqueurs the success of his business idea continues to this day.

The shop is located directly on Marienplatz in front of the Four Seasons Fountain and the Mariensäule in Weilheim's pedestrian zone. The locals affectionately refer to this square as Weilheimer Stube (Weilheimer Parlour). Even the famous painter and impressionist Wassily Kandinsky found the square so romantic that he painted it in 1909 the picture Weilheim-Marienplatz in oil on canvas.

Today there is still the Café Krönner right next to the pastry shop, which of course offers these fine cakes and tarts with various types of coffee and tea. When Marienplatz became a pedestrian zone in 1976, it became possible to place chairs and tables in front of it. On sunny days, these open-air places became a popular meeting place for locals and visitors to relax from shopping stress with a cup of coffee or espresso.

As soon as you enter the shop, the sweet smell of chocolate and fine spices welcomes you. A highlight of his confectionery art is the making of the Baumkuchen (Spit cake). The Baumkuchen is still made by hand and baked layer by layer of dough over an open flame. This results in specialities such as Baumkuchenspitzen, Baumkuchenentorte and the Baumkuchen as a whole.

The fine pralines are produced in-house and a wide range of individual creations are offered. The variety of pralines is overwhelming, from filled and unfilled, fruity sweet or sour, with tart dark chocolate or sweet with nougat or brittle. Here, everyone will find his or her favourite taste for themselves or as a gift.

Especially the chocolates filled with schnapps are very popular there. The choice of different schnapps fillings is overwhelming. Only those who have tried these pralines before will appreciate this combination of chocolate and extraordinary schnapps.
