Hello friends and Hivians. I hope you all are enjoying your weekend. Today I join #POBPhotocontest hosted by @friendlymoose. Today's photo theme is nature in the city. If you would like to join check out the article, POBphotocontest New Round: NATURE IN THE CITY. Just be sure to read and follow the guidelines and rules.

Nature doesn't always show itself away from the hustle bustle of a city. There are many instances you can walk on a city street right into beautiful nature. This can be in a city square, park, pond and maybe even in your own back yard. Basically can pop up anywhere actually.Today I show you a park I visited yesterday. The park I visited was Mount Vernon Park in Omaha, Nebraska. Let me show you what was very enlightening to my soul and eyes.

I share with you what is probably one of my favorite things of nature, it's amazing colors it can show. I had to be patient trying to get a shot of this butterfly. There was another one which was orange and black 🦋 but that one was camera shy.

After following this one for a good 15 minutes it finally decided to land and pose for me. It actually landed on another plot of flowers in the park. So yes I stalked it 😂 This shot was taken with my camera phone. I like this one the most because of all its color and of course of one of nature's beautiful insects. It was nice sharing the views and scents with this particular butterfly.

I was really thankful for getting one photo of it but it's like it wanted to show off some more. So I took the opportunity to get a little photo shoot of it. I'll have to say this little guy brought smiles and also emptied out any worries I was carrying. Thank you butterfly I almost want to give you a name 😁 Maybe we meet again someday.

Two beautiful filled flower pots I noticed initially as I entered into this amazing little flower garden park. You can also notice in the back ground of them some other beautiful nature. The park is enclosed by an assortment of trees so you can only see you the beauty of the park if you visit. It truly is a hidden part of nature right in a busy neighborhood right outside it.

I could have taken some close up pictures because there were a few different species of butterflies and even dragon flies in them but there were also some insect species I wasn't too fond of. I saw some bumble bees and even a feared wasps. My crypotonite is hornets, wasps and bees in that order. Sorry I couldn't bring myself to one knee and get some close ups 😨

I took a few photos of the many assortments of flowers & plants in this park. I'll admit I did not get a shot of the entire arrangement where I caught the butterfly at. I guess I was tunnel visioned in the moment. There were so many others I either didn't take shots of or didn't visit because I had some other things to do.

Seeing what I show you I think which assortment is my favorite. I like the yellows, purples and some of the unique grasses/plants that are among the flowers. Just too many likes in all of them so I can't simply pick one and say here it is, hehe. How about you, do you have a favorite assortment above?

I hope you enjoyed my visit to nature right here located in a city of decent size. I definitely had my brush with nature today and I still have more places to share at another time.

Take care, stay safe and go find nature near you. Until next time.
