I am sure there is already loads of information about the cliffs of Moher in Ireland, but still thought I would share my experience, as it was truly a unique and amazing experience. The cliffs of Moher are located on the west coast of Ireland. The cliffs are massive and dramatic, and run for around 14kms.

As with most of the popular sites like this in the UK parking is never free, and can often be quite expensive. The official car park is the visitor information center, which costs 8 euro per person, which includes parking - you cant park here without a ticket to the visitor center. Alternatively, you can park at different areas along the cliffs for a smaller fee - be careful though as there are lots of no parking areas. We parked on the opposite side of the cliffs and walked towards the visitor center. Some of these are privately owned, so do your own research.

Although the cliffs stretch for around 14kms, it is up to you how far you want to walk depending on your fitness level. Although we didn't walk the whole way we walked a fair bit of it, deciding to get out moneys worth!

As we were walking along I noticed that the landscape would change regularly, and the cliffs were all quite different. It is possible to get close to the edge and peek down (if you arent too afraid of heights...). There were a few signs around warning not to get to close to the edge as it could be unsafe due to loose rocks - some people still take the risk for a chance for that perfect Instagram post!

It is a great place for a picnic, and to take your time to full appreciate and take in the stunning scenery. Make sure you take snacks along, and plenty of water.

Getting a closer look from the edge of the rocks offers a view of some of the varied bird life here aswell.

There was an official track to walk along, but at times it seemed abit far away to get a good view of the rocks. Some people probably feel that it is safer, but many (like us) decided to walk abit closer to the edge in exchange for getting some better views - well worth it I think!

The cliffs really are photogenic and seem to change a lot, however photos become abit more difficult later in the afternoon due to the sun. I feel that leaving from the visitor center would have probably been better as the direction offered better and more dramatic views. On our walk back we found that the sun wasn't in the right spot, and some of the photos turned out too dark.

As I mentioned, you could spend as much time here as you wanted - it would be easy to spend the whole day here and walk the whole cliffs. The scenery is beautiful the whole way, and like something I have never seen before!
