Burg Satzvey

Happy Easter!

Today we made a little trip to Castle Satzvey to the Easter market. We have been to the medieval festival or Christmas event a few times. Since we no longer own a car, we use a car-sharing service for some hours to drive there.

Food

The first thing, of course, was something to eat. There were enough options.

I had 'Zwiebelfleisch', onions and meat with brown sauce, and my wife had 'Flammkuchen', a tarte flambée with pulled pork and BBQ sauce.
We also shared a 'Schreckenskammer' Kölsch, an old traditional and delicious beer from Cologne. You see the 'Flammkuchen' and the Kölsch in the photo.

Music

Suddenly, a wild easter chicken band appeared and performed some funny rewritten, well-known songs with an Eastern or chicken twist.

Easter Market

You could buy many things and we could not resist salami, mountain cheese, and good fresh bread from the Castle Bakery. We wanted to eat that later at home for dinner like a good old 'Brotzeit'. My wife got very comfortable trousers.

Hiking

We still had some time before we brought the car back, so we decided to walk a bit in a nearby wood. 43 minutes around the 'Katzensteine', cat stones by Katzvey.
