Hi friends,
Today I want to share with you some of the beautiful places from my city, Lugoj
This is the town where I grew up, where I went to school and where I still live.
Lugoj is the city divided in two by the River Timis, where five beautiful bridges were built to make the passage from one shore to the other .
One of the symbols of this city is the iron bridge connecting the two banks of the river Timiş, instead of it and more precisely until 1901 there was a wooden bridge, but it was decided to build a iron bridge, of the twentieth-century level, this being the famous iron bridge today.
Passing this bridge you get directly into the center of the city.
In the center we find numerous shops, cafes, terraces and Bela Lugosi cinema ,where besides normal film programs every weekend, in the morning there are special films for children titled in Romanian.
Another beautiful symbol of this city is the electric clock in the center, where long ago they say was the meeting place to the young people .
Although today this beautiful town is full of flowers, in the past it was really full of flowers and it was also said to be the city of flowers, girls and bicycles.
This bridge connects the Strand area with the Market Square, being the newest bridge built in Lugoj ,this bridge has two bikes bounded, two for pedestrians and one central for cyclists and its illumination is made with side spotlights. Being built only a few years later, the bridge is provided with a high metal sill and at both ends of the bridge there is a lift for people with disabilities.
This bridge is so beautiful day and night, and in warm seasons it is beautifully ornamented with flowers.
Another bridge to cross the Timis River is the concrete bridge.
It allows both pedestrian walkers with 2 sidewalks, as well as cars and bikes, being the only 4-lane Lugoj bridge for cars.
Let's talk about the 4th bridge, this bridge, namely the bridge of the waterfall, is the most attractive place in lugoj for bathing ,this bridge crosses the 2 waterfalls where young Lugojans have fun while batting in the waves of the waterfall or jumping off the bridge.
On the other side of the bridge, namely in the area of the island, during summer there is a beach with 2 pools , one for adults and one for children and an outdoor disco, and here we also meet tennis courts.
On this bridge is forbidden the entrance by motor vehicles being allowed to pass only pedestrian or bicycles.
And the last bridge is the railway bridge, which, as it is said, only allows access to trains, but some people risk running through here.
So far we have only talked about bridges, you will come to believe that they are the most important of lugoj, it's not like that, and bridges have their role, of course, but we also have beautiful buildings, some hotels, educational establishments, churches, theater, house of culture and house of the army, beautiful restaurants and many shops. And let's not forget the town hall.
Behind the City Hall and the Filaret Barbu Music School is the children's park with different kind of outdoor toys for children, and between the park and the town hall is the famous Ana Lugojana clock.
The first version of this monument was built in 1975 by a lugojan, namely Tiberiu Demeter, who donated this to the city. This statue symbolized the guild of the ancient craftsmen of the Ana Lugojana Ensemble, now being an electric clock, of course, symbolizing the same thing, being only beautifully lit, and played the song "Ana Lugojana" at fixed hours.
The Romanian Orthodox Church "Assumption of the Mother of God" is a continuation of the Gothic-Byzantine style, was built in 1759 and the Believers called it "The Two Towers Church" Also in this picture we can see the Orthodox Cathedral as well as the Town Hall of Lugoj.
This is the beautiful view of the small park in front of the police where the beautiful fish fountain is located.
But what I like most is the walk along the bank of Timis, which both during the day and the night offers some amazing images.
Thanks to the water, buildings and flowers, as well as the slopes on the banks of the river Timis, the images captured here are a dream
I hope you enjoyed the little trip through Lugoj, the pictures are made on various occasions using an ifone 7 and a samsung galaxy s 8 as well as the reel or palm effects of google photo or pic collage.
