Hello my dear traveling lovers! You probably wonder what is interesting about a river? Actually it exceeds all our expectations because it is surrounded by the Geres nature reserve and this creates a very beautiful and green atmosphere! from various water sports to piloting our drone! all this we can enjoy in the Braga region!๐ŸŒ๐Ÿšฉ

I think it is one of those walks that I recommend you do in Portugal because of all the landscape that you are going to travel through the country, you will go from the center of the country to the north in just three hours, one of the advantages of a small country! As you can see we left Lisbon very early and we made several stops in different villages and places of tourist interest including Braga, Porto! When we get to the surroundings of the river we are only 40 minutes from Spain so we would not miss the opportunity to stop visiting the neighboring country!๐ŸŒ๐Ÿšฉ

The Cavado river has access through the village of "ventosa" an also obligatory stop because there are many beautiful landscapes here, including many waterfalls that are at their maximum flow in spring and winter, one of the activities you can do in the village is to rent a small boat to ride on the river, or one of those that only uses pedals that do not require licenses! There are those who come here to do extreme water sports! or just relax and fish! There are many rural hotels around here that let you connect with nature and you will pay less than 100 per night!๐Ÿšฉ๐ŸŒ
โ˜˜๏ธ๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŒ

In Portuguese it is also known as the Caldo river, after we arrive at the central part of the village we can take a short walk and walk across the two bridges that connect the village with the main areas and even Spain! It was time for lunch and we took advantage of eating something in a restaurant located next to the river that was very good and cheap! There are also places to park! Your walk here in the village should not exceed 30 minutes so you can continue on your way to Spain!๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿ

Stops in Geres๐ŸŒ„๐Ÿšฉ
These photos correspond to the places where we stopped while we were going up the mountain to go to Spain! Actually, for me it is one of the best experiences in Portugal to go on the road that passes through the natural Sierra de Geres towards Spain in the Lobios region! This last one is famous for its hot springs, we wanted to bathe in the hot springs but the weather did not allow us, it was raining a lot!

As we were very short of time, we only went through Spain and took some photos in the Lima River, then we drove to Lobios to see if the weather favored us and take a shower in the hot springs but it was not possible, there are those who say that taking a shower in the hot springs Hot springs while it's raining is nice and I don't doubt it but then getting into the wet car is complicated and there is no bathroom to dry yourself! so I recommend you check the weather well before doing the adventure!
๐Ÿšฉ๐ŸŒ„
