Labour Day (International Workers' Day) was a pretty big holiday in socialist Yugoslavia, and as long i remember it was a day to go out in nature, barbecuing, and just relaxing. For a long time we were going to our local forest and it was a bit "extreme" sometimes (a bit of crazy, maybe i will share it someday :) ). Last few years we were using that few free days to visit some new parts of Serbia (you can find my Uvac and Stara planina posts).
This year it was Vrdnik at Fruška Gora.
Fruška Gora is the highest part of Vojvodina at 539 m. It is a national park and was declared in 1960 and covers an area of 266.72 km2. The mountain is a natural geological phenomenon as it is built from the rocks from almost all geological periods. It used to be an island during the existence of the Pannonian Sea. It had a great number of monasteries, and 16 of them survived and are still active today. Most of the Fruška Gora is covered with forests.
And we seen nothing of it :)
Years back the weather for 1. May was not so great, and this year was phenomenal so we decided to do nothing and just chill :) and we were great at it :)
And a short and non informative video from this trip :)
