Okay, I'm going to get this out of the way up front... this hotel could definitely use a re-naming! From now on, I'm going to just refer to it as Potts Point Central...
... anyway, I've stayed at this hotel a few times now, and I have to say that it is a decent enough place that is a quick train ride or walk from the centre of Sydney, on the King's Cross stop. Hotels in the CBD of Sydney can be quite expensive, so it is definitely worth it for the various ensembles and hotels to just book a little bit further out to avoid blowing their accommodation budget!
I know that there are some in the groups that grumble... but for me, I'm sort of happy to not be in the middle of all the hustle and bustle of the large city. Even this area a little a train stop or two away from the middle of Sydney is still too crowded for my tastes!
Walking in from the outer doors and the alleyway... you enter the foyer, it is a bit of a confusing mess with all the mirrors on either side of the corridor. But it is at least a bright and welcoming entrance!
Now, you are only situated about 30 metres away from the main street of the area... and on that street, you can find lots of places to eat and carouse. Some very risqué places as well...
The art style that adorns the walls are sort of the things that I like... although, I do have to say that I generally prefer darker backgrounds!
The best things about serviced apartments over the regular hotel rooms is the ability to cook simple meals for yourself... as I get older, I find that eating out every night whilst I'm tour starts to be quite disagreeable for my stomach. So, sometimes, I just want to have a simple pasta meal... nothing fancy, and having a fridge means that I can stock some orange juice and most importantly, a box of ice creams for myself to have for dessert!
The room is nothing extravagant... and I won't even bother to show the view out of the window which is a nice close up of some other building's wall... at least it wasn't another window!
The bed is comfy, and the bathroom is clean and adequate... although, the way that they have constructed the shower curtain system seems to always make sure that I have lots of water outside the shower area which is a little bit annoying the first time when you get out to find all your clothes are drenched!
Still, it has everything that I need to have a nice and pleasant short stay in a larger city. No complaints from me... although, it can be hard to get me to complain! All I need is a clean comfy bed, some power, and a clean bathroom!
