Another day, another location on our summer holidays... and this time, a little secluded creek inlet instead of the beach proper... when you have smaller children, there are definitely days when you want to have the calmer and shallower waters of the inlets rather than the rough and tumble of the ocean beaches.

... and it appears that this particular inlet was pretty damn popular as well! We did have to park a couple of blocks away... but when we ended up walking down here, there was a space that opened up... so, I ended up walking back to get the car to bring it a bit closer.

The area is pretty barebones... there are small residential houses close by, as well as caravan and holiday parks... but the inlet entry is just a small road and a few small carparks... and amenities are limited to a single free-standing toilet block.

As I mentioned, the parking was quite limited... and so, on the way in, you are gambling a bit as to whether or not to continue a bit further... or just taking a guaranteed park a little further out. Later, when we finished... there was an ice-cream van that set up shop here!

So, you can see that the water is nice and shallow... most kids and adults can walk from one side to the other... and it makes for a nice warm water feel as well in the afternoon. Plus, very clear and blue water!

On the ocean side of the inlet, the waves are broken up by the multiple sand banks... and so, none of the rough and tumble of the ocean waves makes it through to the inlet.

What can I say??? A popular and easily accessible place for the little ones to splash around! Definitely was a hit with our kids... and the adults as well!
