On occasion, I'm put up in some pretty nice places due to my work... not the sort of places that I'd be able to afford to live in, and they often have some really nice places to eat!

Neutral Bay in Sydney is one of those pretty nice places, and I did manage to make a bit of a tour of the local little eateries. This little place on a corner (home by Cornhill Coffee) just off the main road looked like a decent place to eat... the first time I poked my head in, it was a bit too full for me... and so I popped in on a different lunchtime.

The Space

There is a nice open and breezy eating area... lots of large open sliding windows that allow natural light in, and keeps the area cool in the hot Australian summer. It is a slightly modern decor, and a bit too white and bright for me, and not enough corners to sit in... but I did find a little patch of wall!

And you can see that there are quite a few tables indoor and outdoor for a cafe of this size... on the previous visit, there were a few tables left, but I always prefer not to sit in the middle of the room!

The Menu

There is an interesting 10 dollar breakfast and lunch menu that is quite a decent surprise given the massively rising cost of living in Australia. However, there is also a regular menu if you are interested in something a bit more substantial. The 10 dollar lunch menu was a bit lacklustre for my lunch taste.... the breakfast did look decent, but I did want something a bit more for lunch than subs, rolls, or soup.

The Food

I ended up ordering a cheeseburger... and wow, I was quite amazed by the quality of the food! This was one amazing burger, and the chips were just top notch as well! Perfect sizing as well.. perhaps too small for some, but perfect for a modest eater like me.

... and the coffee was top! As you would hope for a cafe set up by a coffee company!

The Experience

Great food, decent pricing, and top quality coffee... and the service was fast and friendly as well! I'm starting to think that all the rich suburbs have all the best stuff... although, I guess that that is no surprise... I'll definitely be revisiting this place on the off chance that I'm ever put up in this area in future work visits!
