Hello friends. We are 160 km away from Prague, visiting Telč a famous city listed in UNESCO. We came here to explore the city and its history. First we stopped at the parking lot; the fee is 60 kronor for 3 hours, and 80 kronor for the whole day. After parking our car, we proceeded and took a look at the main square of the city. This place has been mentioned since 1333 for the first time. There are two towers with entrances from below and above. After a magnificent entrance, the cityscape opens up. It's a small town filled with Baroque and Renaissance style houses. There is a fountain, a plague column and even a small castle in the square.

Telč established at a point where the borders of Moravia, Bohemia and Austria intersected amidst dense forests in 1333, suffered a major fire centuries after its initial establishment, as indicated on information boards. It was quickly rebuilt while adhering to the original plan. While its Gothic castle was restored in the Renaissance style, some houses in the square had changes in their roofs and their exterior facades turned into Baroque style. However the Gothic style arches from the Middle Ages on the ground floor remained unchanged, maintaining coherence with the other houses in the square. And two churches and two fountains were added to the city, along with a plague column dedicated to Saint John of Nepomuk. By the late 18th century, Telč experienced a period where time seemed to stand still, marking the end of its economic development. The city managed to reach us today miraculously, avoiding the impact of industrialization and without socialist buildings.

We read that the city was accepted by UNESCO on December 13 1992. It is a beautiful place. Every house has its own architectural beauty. Everything has been done in an interesting way. After wandering around we returned to the square. There are many shops here selling all kinds of ceramic souvenirs. We had the opportunity to discover the lively atmosphere of the city in the square. This square a meeting point for travelers and locals alike, impressed us. There was excitement in every corner for a new discovery. Discovering Telč's unique beauties was an unforgettable experience for us.
