Samdruptse Hill or The wishfull Hill is believed to be dormant volcanic hill at a height of 7000ft(2134 m). The Locals here believe only prayers can save them from the eruption of this volcano, hence they stay devoted to Guru Padmasambhava which translates to Lotus Born as he was believed to be found in a Lotus floating at Lake Dhanakosha, He Is also believed to be the Second Buddha according to Tibetian Buddhists.
We (Bro in law and I) reached Samdruptse at around 4 PM on the last day of our 3 day Bike ride in Sikkim to see the 45 meter tall statue of the Guru. Sikkim Is a really one of the smaller states of India covering a geographical area of only 7000 sq km, but traveling to the Major Tourist places is such a short time was still a bit of tiring task and got us exhausted at this point. So our mindset was to quickly see the Statue in 10 mins and then resume back with our ride to reach our home in Gangtok before sundown. We pretty much stuck to our Schedule and left the venue after offering our obeisances to the Buddhist Guru and clicking few pictures of him.
