Hi Steemians!
This time I will take you to the highest Polish peak: Rysy! This is my next trip, this time from July 4, 2015.
This magnificent peak has 2 peaks. Polish peak with a height of 2499 m a.s.l. is often crowded in summer. Despite the great difficulty of this route, many inexperienced people try their hand here. This is because the marking of the trail to the Rysy is already at the Morskie Oko. And because it is a popular place, many people who see the signpost to the Rysy go there, not knowing how huge this challenge is. I will show you all the way. This is the highest peak I've reached. I won't repeat it for the second time.
I start the day early in the morning. I leave the parking lot at Palenica Białczańska (900 m a.s.l.) at 6 a.m. The road to Morskie Oko is boring, but you have to go these 8 kilometers to warm up. I take the first break over the Morskie Oko (1,400 m a.s.l.) to eat and prepare for a real trip. At 9 a.m. I reach the Czarny Staw pod Rysami (1580 m a.s.l.). The weather is really beautiful. I have a good pace and a lot of strength. I'm starting climbing!
First I have to go around the entire Czarny Staw pond below Rysy. There begins a huge climbing wall that leads to the very top. Turning backwards, we have this wonderful view: the Morskie Oko and the Czarny Staw pod Rysami together (photo above). Far beyond the Morskie Oko you can see the hostel where I had breakfast this morning. See how far I am! The worst is still ahead of me. The trail is very dangerous. You need to be careful.
I go higher and higher all the time. You can't see the peak, it's still very far away. Huge black rocks seem to reach the sky here. The higher it is, the greater the threat of falling stones. Many people are not aware of this and this is a deadly threat. Sometimes an echo of the falling stones is heard far away. It can really scare you. It is advisable to have a helmet. It can save your life. The worst thing is that a rock avalanche can be caused by another tourist who is higher.
After some time, helpful steel chains appear on the trail. The trail itself is wide enough that you can also go without them or sideways to avoid people who are walking too slowly. The peak is getting closer. This is the most tiring trail I know. There are about 3 kilometers of trail from the Czarny Staw to the Rysy, but we drive nearly 1 kilometer up! Considering the way from the car park itself, this is really a huge effort.
Another look down. Its impressive right? Here you can feel the fear of heights and space. However, it is great for me. Huge space around! As you can see in the photo above, there are really many people on the trail. Many people are unprepared, without good shoes and equipment. For this reason I do not like this mountain. Too many people want to get it and it's dangerous. People push to reach the top without thinking about security.
Managed to! I'm at the top after nearly 4 hours of climbing. In the photo above, a view of the Slovak peak of the Rysy (2503 m a.s.l.), on the left is the king of the Tatras: Gerlach. We have the Wysoka peak on the right. The Polish top is in the photo from the beginning of the article. The worst thing is that you still have to go down and the road up has cost me a lot of effort, food and water. Stocks are running low and the return journey is long.
At the end, a view of the Niżnie Rysy peak (2430 m a.s.l.). On the left, the hostel by the Morskie Oko is visible. The entire route from the parking lot in both directions is 26 kilometers with a total of up to nearly 2 kilometers up! I find this trip the most exhausting in my life. Higher peaks in not for me. I hope you enjoyed it and invite you to the next relation. Greetings to all those who love mountains!
