December 2, 2019 - It was the UAE National Day and with everyone else headed to the Yas Marina Circuit, Yas Island or the Abu Dhabi Corniche to join the celebrations, I hoped to get as much fun without getting too hassled with traffic.
I have been following Abu Dhabi Moments on insta for a while and been wanting (but never had a chance) to join their many activities here at the Capital.
Reem Central Park
My friend mentioned that the Reem Central Park is now open and is offering lots of great outdoor activities for the kiddos. Hence, I have my eyes at the Abu Dhabi Moments happening at the Reem Central Park for some time now.
The UAE National Day holiday was a great chance for us to get to the place and we were not disappointed. The kids had tons of fun, and of course, us, adults too!
We were welcomed by this nice skyline view of the high rise towers of Al Reem Island. Plus, the mangroves that I didn't know were there.
The promenade leading to the Reem Central Park is not yet fully developed. There are still some unfinished building constructions along the sides. There are also some families still able to camp along the shore. I can just assume that this will no longer be allowed a few months from now.
As we entered the park, the kids were given wrist bands with my mobile number written on it. It was a precaution just in case the kids get lost. Rightly so, because I would later on discover that the place was huuugee!
Water Features
Kids can splash on the water pods and water fountains. It would be a great idea to come back with spare clothes to change the kids later...
Later on in the night, they had a water and laser show. Last night, it was accompanied with opera music which lasted about nine minutes:
And what better way to entertain the kids, but with bubbles and fog!
The Playground
Boy, oh boy! The kids were giddy once we reached the playground!
Swings, slides, bars... Whew! Children's heaven!
Which gets us to...
The Skate Park
The area is also huge with many ramps of different heights. If you are coming with smaller kids, you have to keep your eyes on them as there are many children and could easily get hurt. Or better yet, just trust your kids' instincts! They just have the ability to stand up and brush off the dust after a fall. Hmmm, I have to learn from these kids! Haha.
There were still many parts of the park that we did not cover. Maybe soon.
In the meanwhile, let me share photos of the #ADMoments Global Citizen Activity which we had a chance to witness yesterday.
#ADMoments Global Citizen
ADMoments at the Reem Central Park is a free event for everyone. It is one of the many events happening across the city. Global Citizen was from November 29 to December 2.
There were lots of activities, like the Global Market, Food Zone, Kids Arts and Crafts, Parade of Nations, etc.
Parade of Nations
It was indeed a fantastic night. A great way to spend the holiday and enjoy the nice weather.
I have compiled more on the video below; I hope you enjoy!
Until next time,
