This week's theme (ROUND 274)
SHOW ME A PICTURE OF BIRD. FREE THEME

*Hey, @nelinoeva.
Back in early May, I was going to tell you about a cheerful woodpecker that I watched for several days at my children's fazenda.
When I saw him on the first day, but I didn't have a camera in my hands, I was even upset, but my daughter told me he would come back, he visits us every day.
And indeed, about an hour later, he was back in the tree. But I wasn't expecting him, I was busy and I didn't have a camera in my hands again.
I was able to take the first picture of this feathered guy only on the second day.

I did not see anything like this last year, although I visited the children at the country house 3 times last summer season. Each visit is different from the previous ones in its own way, I always see something new in them. A year ago, my favorite was the stork, this year the woodpecker.
By the way, my daughter asked me, "Dad, who is singing this?" And I honestly confessed to her that I had never heard such a song. A few minutes later, I heard a similar bird singing almost overhead - it was a woodpecker. Hahaha, it reminded me of the cartoon "Woody Woodpecker".

This guy wasn't afraid of us at all. He periodically sat on the feeder and ate the remains of sunflower seeds. The feeder... This is a special story. Last fall, my son-in-law built this masterpiece and filled it with almost 10 kg of sunflower seeds. The daughter said that the neighbor's cats were the first to come to the feeder and were even going to sleep there.
In the spring, black rooks flew to the feeder. It's even very surprising. Even I saw rooks walking around the clearing in the early morning and gathering branches for their nests. But they also sat on this big feeder and swallowed the seeds in large quantities.

The woodpecker ate one seed at a time. And he didn't just swallow them. He peeled every seed. He stuck a seed into a small slot in the feeder and skillfully peeled off the husk. It's a masterpiece.

It was morning. I left the house, the woodpecker was sitting inside the feeder and looked at me attentively, appraisingly. He realized that I wasn't threatening him.

Currently, the children have gone on vacation to St. Petersburg. When they come back to their country house, I will ask them about the woodpecker.
