Volokolamsk. Dubosekovo crossing.
This is one of the significant places in the history of the Soviet Union and present-day Russia. On November 16, 1941, a battle took place at this place, which is known as the "feat of 28 Panfilov heroes". The Great Patriotic War in Russia now occupies the first place in terms of patriotism
During our school years, we were told that 28 Red Army soldiers stopped the offensive of Nazi troops on Moscow with their lives, the fighters tied themselves with grenades and threw themselves under tanks. Subsequently, they were all awarded the title of "Hero of the Soviet Union". It was the highest award of the USSR.

In the 90s of the last century, when the USSR disappeared from the world maps and censorship disappeared in Russia, publications began to appear that in fact the whole story about the 28 Panfilovites was a journalistic fiction. Of course, there was a battle and the fighters did not let the tanks pass towards Moscow, but they did not rush under the tanks and did not all die.
At the end of July, I was in the area of Volokolamsk and saw a road sign in the direction of Dubosekovo and I suggested to my son-in-law to go there and look at this place. We took my daughter and grandson and went to the designated place.

6 big standing guys looking towards the west-southwest. It was from there that the German tanks came in 1941. This monument was erected on May 6, 1975 to mark the 30th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
In front of the sculptural group, there is a wide strip of concrete slabs, symbolizing the defensive line, beyond which the German troops did not pass.
Between the concrete strip and the sculptural group, there is a red granite platform on which wreaths and flowers are laid.

On the other side of the road is the second part of the museum complex, namely the trenches that have remained since those times, 2 canons and a car "polutorka".
There is also an observation deck in the form of a massive reinforced concrete pillbox, from which you can look at the line where Panfilov fought. The bunker is equipped with an interactive museum "Dugout". Unfortunately, we couldn't get into it because it was closed for maintenance.

I'm at the trenches. 3 trenches have been abandoned since those times. My son-in-law and grandson are with me.

Where does the cat come from? It looks like she lives here in the woods in the summer. She probably has enough food. She has caught a mouse and is eating it.

Well, to summarize. I have been skeptical about the feat of the "28 Panfilovites" for many years, but I am glad that I visited this place. I think that on my next trip to Moscow, I will try to find similar places.
