Fast escape from Ho Chi Minh City to Cambodia

It was time to leave Vietnam and head for the border of Cambodia. I was a few hours away from overstaying my visa and had to make a run right after getting the rest of the paperwork done at the Saigon stock exchange.

Leaving out of town just before mid day.

I took the closest road into Cambodia and was greeted with this sight.

I check into Cambodia without much issue. The border agent do not care about the Vietnamese motorcycle as long as I pay to get into the country. 

After the hoopla with the border and the waiting and paying and waiting and wandering around wondering where to go to get into Cambodia, I stop to have a drink.

There is a distinct difference here. Afar crossing the line of Cambodia there was a feeling of mellow that came over me.

This is a different place a different people. Culturally connected by many aspects yet so far from what I have known for the last months traveling around in Vietnam. 

Ice is brought in on a truck and taken to be used for drinks. I am not a fan of ice but I don't mind some this time around.

I watch the shop keep shave the ice with a aggressive toothed saw and then cover it with a cloth.

I sit and recouped my thought and energies before I head closer to the big city.

It is time to move along so I find my helmet and mount the steed that happens to be nice and cool having been in the shade for a bit of the day. 

The Bridge needs to be crossed. I stop so I can prep the camera as I pass thought the fulcrum, to the other side.

There is a sense of stillness in these lines. 

I get to the outskirts of the area and take a few photos. It is important to get a hotel booked for the few days ill be here in this are.

Lets try that again.

I find a place for a few nights and it will do.

The difference here is stark and I cannot put my finger on it. In the coming days it will become clear as to why the difference. But for now ill stop and have a look around and come back with some more information about the place of Kor An Doeuk, Prey Veng Province, Cambodia.
