I decided to take a ride up to the Abandoned Hotel that is located on the hill in the southern area of Cambodia. Here is what I find.
The road leading up to the hill is a nice paved road that has many turns and twists along it.
I came to this road a day ago and rode it up to the the midway point. It was raining and I was not into getting wet and riding a road hard on the sidewalls of the bike when it was wet. Not smart and I am still hurting from the accident Kiteboarding some time ago.
Here is a stop along the way to the top. I did not stop that often as the road was such a pleasure to ride. I was able to leave all the bags and gear off the bike while riding this road around the corners and hairpins. This way the weight is not swaying the bike to one side and possibly shifting and making me loose balance.
A slightly different angle to the valley blow.
I wander around the inside of this hotel and wonder how it all came to pass that the project stopped.
From far away I see the Buddha sitting and waiting for me to say hi.
There are many rooms to explore here.
Outside the front of the hotel we can see that degrading over time that has worked away some of the clean lines in this place. It is fascinating to wander around and see the grounds.
More front facing areas that have the look like they're inhabited but knowing that this place is abandoned, it is probably only inhabited by mice and vagrants at times.
Back inside the courtyard to have a look around at other halls to walk through.
I make my way over to the steps as I cross the courtyard.
A dark room off the back area of the building.
Back windows facing south east.
I kept on moving towards the south and found another dark alley that lead outside to another building.
The clouds roll up the mountain side and rain here. Even thought there is sun just off the way from this hill.
A path stretches out around the property and I fallow this around to another building to explore.
Outside monument.
I am not sure what this is but it looks like it was made for light to pass thought as light a specific spot on the wall or floor...or it is a bullet hole that happens to be in the right space to make one think there is more then just a hole in a wall of abandoned building.
Inside the church we go.
The view from the church is just as nice as the main hotel.
Lets walk around the outside to have a look at the church.
How fascinating to see this still standing and yet not used.
Back to the main area of the hotel.
I wander around the grounds for a while longer and forget to take more pictures as I am fascinated by the place space and energies here. There is a mixed bag of things going on. But there is more to this place, I heard rumours of caves and supply bunkers that are still in use and yet just look derelict. That in case of an emergency this would be the place to come and to find protection and supplies.
The Boker Hotel was built in 1925 and it took a lot of people to build given the remote location and access was not a nicely paved road back then.
