Kineshma city

As I wrote in a previous post, sunny Sunday weather took us on a short trip through winter fields and forests to a small town called Kineshma.

I have already been to this place more than once and I want to say that this is a beautiful town. It is not as big and bright as my Kostroma. There is no such rich architectural ensemble in the center, but still this city is good for its patriarchal and provincial nature.

It's cozy here.

The city is located on the banks of the Volga River. On the high right bank. There is a large alley at the very top of the coast. In fact, this is the embankment. This embankment overlooks the Volga expanse.

In the Kineshma area, the ice on the Volga is perfectly flat. The guys are skating on the river. This usually doesn't happen. Most often the ice is covered with snow and the ice on the river is uneven.

We are witnessing a unique natural phenomenon.

We arrived in Kineshma for lunch. Now, during the pandemic, the number of tourists in small towns has greatly decreased. On the one hand, this is a very strong blow to the service business. On the other hand, we went to the first restaurant we came across and ate very tasty food without waiting and with great attention from the waiter. Now they have to fight for every client.

At three o'clock in the afternoon, the sun is already on the horizon. It's time for the return trip. At dusk I drove home feeling like a good day. We walked, got some air, saw a lot of beautiful places. We were catching the rare winter sun.
