It was a very amazing route through the mountains. I was driving a small rented car from the coast to the meteors. Meteora are monasteries on the mountains. A very famous place that I really wanted to visit.
So ... The fact is that the road to the monasteries of Meteora passes through the mountains. The road is marked on the map and I decided that I could take a shortcut and take the free road.
At first, the road was good with nice smooth asphalt. Then the road turned off somewhere and the quality of the pavement changed a lot. I would even say it has changed a lot. The road has lost its asphalt and has become much narrower.
I realized that the road leads through the pass and that all the fun is ahead.
There were very beautiful views along the road. Mountain lakes and views of the Olympus mountain range. Yes, that very Olympus is the home of the ancient gods.

Green color of vegetation around. What could be more beautiful. By the way, in the sun in the mountains it was very pleasant to get out of the car and look around. But it was cool in the shade of the mountains.
The mountain serpentine led the car higher and higher. The engine of the car was very weak, so I had to move forward and upward by pressing on the gas pedal.
But at some point I realized that the road went down. I moved over the pass and in front of me were ancient monasteries.
