Then winter had just begun and it was the beginning with severe frosts, but without a lot of snow. After a long period of cloudy weather, the sun shone in the sky. For our central Russia in the autumn-winter period, this is a real gift from nature. You need to take a camera and go to different small villages, small towns to enjoy the beauty of your native nature.

We did just that. Having chosen the route, we went on a weekend tour. The distance one way is about 100 kilometers. This is not a lot, you can drive in an hour and a half.

I did not have time to leave the territory of my Kostroma region, but I was already tired of admiring the new beauty of nature after autumn. Frost on trees, on grass and on bushes looks like a real precious decoration.

Small villages along the roads look somehow mysterious in their new winter decoration.

In one place near the road I saw a fallen tree. This tree fell a long time ago and I have seen it several times before, driving along this road for a year.

This time I could not drive by.

I stopped and got out of the car. The cold air tingled my skin pleasantly. Snow crust creaked underfoot.

I walked from the road to this fallen tree. It was a big old birch tree. Powerful branches stuck out in different directions. The sun is entangled in the net of small twigs.

A very beautiful and sad picture. I walked around the tree for about thirty minutes, looked, studied, photographed.

Interesting photos turned out.

I am pleased to show you these works.
