Locorotondo
Locorotondo is a town in Italy in the Puglia region, near Bari.
Locorotondo is one of the famous tourist spots in the Yttria Valley. In addition, the city gave the name of one of the Puglia's wine zones Locorotondo DOC, which produce excellent white wines.
For a long time the city was called Luogorotondo, i.e. “Round place” in the shape of the settlement.
A visit to this place is pure coincidence. The name of the place itself sounds nice to my Russian ear, so when I was building a route to the city of Matera, when I saw the name of this town on the map, I decided to call in and see what was good there.
We arrived in the town of Locorotondo.
It was a day off and a big market worked in the city in the morning. Here they sold various vegetables, fruits, fish and meat, cheeses and olives.
All that your soul wants. I bought very tasty tangerines. Despite the fact that the skin color was green, tangerines were very juicy and sweet. After passing through the market, we went straight to the center to the cathedral.
The city was very comfortable. Beautiful narrow streets are decorated with flowers and different plants. Different ladders and white walls added interesting details to the viewer.
Since this town is not at all large, we walked around the central part in just a few minutes. It so happened that we went out where the tidal people should go. There is a beautiful square with cafes and restaurants. There is a memorial park on the cliff. The park offers a great view.
This is how a random visit to a small town gave me wonderful sensations and beautiful photographs.
Later, at home, I looked what kind of place it was. It turned out that Locorotondo was in the Guinness Book of Records. The truth is just because the name of the city has the most letters O.
