Picnic in the Russian forest

I live in central Russia. This is a very beautiful area rich in forests and fields. At any time of the year you can find in our places something that will make us happy.

Now it’s summer and the most beautiful place to go near the city is our Russian forest.

Near the city there is a small river called Poksha. Along the banks of this picturesque river grows a beautiful pine forest, which is interspersed with birch groves. We decided to have a picnic in one of the forest glades.

Having passed a little into the forest, we found a great place. I have several folding chairs in my car, there is a small ax and a folding barbecue.

We got out of the car and walked some distance to get a little bit away from the car and plunge into the real nature.

I chopped up some dry twigs, which I picked up around the meadow and made a fire. The fire began to glow cheerfully. I prepared enough coals and put a grill with pieces of turkey over them.

I still took out an army pot, poured water into it and put it directly on the coals.

While preparing food at the stake, I went around the clearing and began to look at the world through the lens of my camera.

Different flowers and herbs, pine and rowan leaves.

The only thing that spoiled my stay in the forest was mosquitoes. They say that only female mosquitoes drink blood. Males prefer juices and sweet liquids.

In the meadow itself, there were not many mosquitoes under the sun. But in the shade of the trees, where I was looking for fuel for the fire, there were a lot of mosquitoes. I tried to endure mosquito bites for a very long time, but in the end I had to escape to the clearing.

By that time, the meat was fried and I put cheese on the grill. Together with the meat, I bought a piece of suluguni cheese, which is perfectly fried on a fire. So that cheese does not stack from the grill directly into the fire, I wrapped each piece of cheese in pita bread.

As a result, cheese in pita bread turned out to be even slightly tastier than grilled turkey.

When I returned home, I still had photos of that wonderful Russian nature that surrounded us during our picnic.
