Christmas Festival
From the first days of January, there was a Christmas festival in the city of Shuya. The city of Shuya, Ivanovo region, is not a large settlement at all. This city is located 35 kilometers from the big city of Ivanovo.
I have been to Shuya several times before. It is a pleasant provincial town. It contains several interesting architectural objects. For example, the same Shuya bell tower.
This is the tallest bell tower in a free-standing building.
I think I have already written about this bell tower. He wrote that the construction of the bell tower was not without curiosities and difficulties.
But today I am writing about the Christmas festival, which was held in early January before Orthodox Christmas.
This festival was organized by icon painters from Palekh, musicians from Moscow, businessmen from Ivanovo.
The organizers of the festival decorated the city and turned some streets into real art objects. On one of the squares, one of the destroyed temples was recreated in the form of a light installation. It looked just amazing.
In addition, the main art object of the festival was the Christmas nativity scene. An icon was drawn in the nativity scene with the help of light. Around, against the background of the forest, in the sky and on the trees, laser drawings were projected. All this happened with specially written music.
It looked amazing.
We arrived in Shuya for a few hours. To get to this city from Kostroma, you need to spend about two hours.
Since winter is a very dark time, since the daylight hours are very short, it is more difficult to drive on dark roads. But after visiting this holiday, I did not regret at all that I had spent a lot of time on the road.
