Zoo in Yaroslavl

The last days of May. Summer will come soon. I remember one day in the same days we went to the Yaroslavl Zoo.

I live in Kostroma and we also have a small zoo. Recently, our zoo has increased slightly, but has not yet reached such a size that it would become more attractive.

Therefore, we decided to go to the Yaroslavl Zoo, since we had long heard about this place as a place to visit.

The zoo in Yaroslavl is large. Good spacious enclosures for animals allow them to feel like in a living nature.

Yaroslavl Zoo is the largest zoo in Russia and the first landscape type zoo in Russia.

It was officially opened on August 20, 2008 in preparation for the 1000th anniversary of Yaroslavl. The total area of the zoo was more than 67 hectares, about 14 were mastered on the opening day, the collection then contained more than 450 animal specimens of more than 200 species.

Today, the zoo has more than 3,000 animals.

In a word - a good opportunity to walk and spend a day off.

So we went on the road. The distance from Kostroma to the Yaroslavl Zoo is probably about 70 kilometers. This is not much, and the road flew unnoticed with good music.

We arrived at the place and saw a large beautiful house - the main administrative building of the zoo. Through it we went to the territory where animals are in large enclosures.

Indeed, a large territory and tranquility. There is an opportunity to calmly stop and stare at the animals in the habitat.

I must say that in addition to land animals, the zoo also has water infrastructure. In the ponds and in the lake live the inhabitants of the water depths.

For example, the pride of the zoo are the Baikal seal. This is a species of seals.

And in the ponds on the territory of the zoo fishing for fishing is organized. You can take a fishing rod, a bucket, bait and go fishing for crucian carp, carp and other fish.

With me, one fisherman pulled a fish weighing about 2 kilograms out of the water. It was a whole show. True, he then released her back into the water, but both he and the audience received pleasure.

A visit to the Yaroslavl Zoo is a wonderful event that should be held from time to time. Proximity to animals and nature makes a person better.
