Danxia Mountain (China Red Stone Park) is located in Renhua County, Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province, between 113°36′25′′ to 113°47′53′′ east longitude and 24°51′48′′ to 25°04′12′′ north latitude. With a total area of 292 square kilometers, it is the largest scenic spot in Guangdong Province, a scenic spot dominated by Danxia landforms and a world natural heritage site.

丹霞山( 中国红石公园),位于广东省韶关市仁化县境内,东经113°36′25″至113°47′53″,北纬24°51′48″至25°04′12″之间。 总面积292平方千米,是广东省面积最大的风景区、以丹霞地貌景观为主的风景区和世界自然遗产地。
Legend: From 140 million to 70 million years ago, Danxia Mountain is a large inland basin. It was affected by the Himalayan orogeny. The surrounding mountains were strongly uplifted, and the basin received a lot of debris deposits, forming a thick red stratum. Around 7000, the earth's crust rose and gradually became eroded. Since the 6 million years ago, there have been many intermittent rises in the basin, with an average increase of about 1 meter per 10,000 years. At the same time, the watershed is cut and the Danxia red layer is cut into a red mountain group, which is now the Danxia Mountain Scenic Area.

传说:距今1.4亿年至7000万年间,丹霞山区是一个大型内陆盆地,受喜马拉雅造山运动影响,四周山地强烈隆起,盆地内接受大量碎屑沉积,形成了巨厚的红色地层;距今7000年前后,地壳上升而逐渐受侵蚀。距今600万年以来,盆地又发生多次间歇上升,平均大约每万年上升1米,同时流水下切侵蚀,丹霞红层被切割成一片红色山群,也就是现在的丹霞山景区。
导游知道很多,丹霞山境内有大小石峰、石墙、石柱、天生桥共计680多座;丹霞山在地层、构造、地貌表现、发育过程、营力作用以及自然环境、生态演化等方面的研究在全国丹霞地貌区最为详细和深入,已经成为全国乃至世界丹霞地貌的研究基地以及科普教育和教学实习基地
