Type | Name | Value |
---|---|---|
ALIAS or CNAME | @ | yourblogid.truvvl.blog |
CNAME | www | yourblogid.truvvl.blog |
Prerequisites
- Before you can add your domain, you need to set up hosting and choose a plan.
- Buy a domain at a domain registrar. TravelFeed does not offer this service, we recommend Namecheap.
Step 1: Connect Your Domain
- Go to your TravelFeed dashboard and click on the "Hosting" section in the sidebar.
- Click on "Connect your own domain" or click on "Set up your domain" in the "General" tab.
- Input the domain name precisely as you'd like it to be displayed in the browser's address bar (choose either example.com or www.example.com). The alternative version will be redirected. For instance, if you opt for www.example.com, any traffic to example.com will be seamlessly redirected to www.example.com, and vice versa. Enter only the domain, without http:// or https://
- Click "Next"
Step 2: Modify your DNS records
DNS (Domain Name System) is like an address book for websites. It helps browsers find websites using their domain names. To link your domain to your TravelFeed blog, you need to update your DNS records on your domain registrar's website.
Add or modify these DNS records exactly as displayed in your dashboard, where yourblogid is replaced by your actual blog id:
If you have an existing record at the same level, you need to delete it first.
Need help setting this up? Choose your domain registrar from the list below for step-by-step guidance:
- Namecheap
- Cloudflare. Disable the proxy (DNS only).
- Squarespace
- Porkbun
Alternatives for registrars that don't support ALIAS or CNAME record for @
A few registars do not support setting an ALIAS or CNAME record for @ (also called root, apex or naked domain). If this is the case with your registrar, you have two options:
Configure forwarding
Forwarding only works with www. If your domain is set up as example.com, remove it and add it as www.example.com.
Add the CNAME record as shown only for www. Then configure your root domain to be forwarded to www.

Change your DNS provider
Cloudflare is a free, modern DNS provider that supports CNAME records for @. To use Cloudflare, sign up for an account, add your domain, select the Free plan and then change your nameservers to those provided by Cloudflare. Then, configure your CNAME records as mentioned above.
If you're using a different domain registrar not listed here, explore their help section or reach out to their support team for guidance on how to update DNS records or create redirects.
All Set!
It can take up to 24 hours for your blog to show globally on your new domain due to DNS updating worldwide.
Redirects
Once your domain has been configured, you can redirect yourblogid.truvvl.blog to your domain via the option in your Hosting Dashboard in the General tab. It is recommended that you enable this more than 24 hours after adding your domain.
