We had visitors today outside our cottage in Kuusamo. We came outside and found two grazing Reindeer's, in fact a mother and calf.

This is not an unusual event this far north and I have personally seen reindeer before as I have travelled around Finland. However, considering I normally live a lot further south it is nice to get up close and personal.

So, where is Kuusamo, Finland?

I am only guessing, but many of you will believe that we are in Lapland, however are not quite that far north even though we are very much.

Conclusion

Being in Kuusamo for an extended period of time is helping us understand that living in synergy with nature is not only vital to save the environment, but healthier for the body and soul. 

Since arriving in Kuusamo and experiencing the forest and trees around us I feel that we have become more relaxed. Fortunately, the Finnish people understand the importance of caring for this natural resource. 

An interesting note to end this article on is that Kuusamo has the cleanest air in Europe, which may be the reason why we are feeling far healthier.
