The journey was long, as you can see, the trail also has 11 kilometers of trail, if you count the round trip there are 22, in the middle of nowhere where only nature dominates
Sistelo is a small village and with it brings the magic of the mountains of Portugal where greenery dominates and where the population lives mainly from what the land gives them. therefore, nature is mother and queen of the region
After a good steak and fries, this steak made with "cachena" meat typical of the region, we set off on the journey towards the unknown
The trail starts at the village, however, and like a good guide we started the loop in reverse, appearing in the middle of the trail "I think my internal GPS guide has completely failed, making things much more difficult :)
Starting on a road in front of this incredible river that passes close to the village with crystal clear and very fresh water, the trail in question has many trees that help make it “easier” as we have places to stop the coolness. also with easy access to the river, important for cooling off on walks in the summer heat.
With some time to do the trail and without much rush, we managed to see a lot of biodiversity, and as family time is the most important thing, we did it calmly and without much rush, appreciating all the details of the trail. the trail.
Until I saw this spider web which I was indifferent to and I had to take this photo, I even managed to capture the spider itself right in the center of it

The path is of medium difficulty, however at the moment most of it is made of wood, built on top of the original trail. You can still see that it is completely new.
Best of all, the trail is free
It's funny that the trail follows the zigzags of the old paths, without damaging any trees that existed in the area, that is, the “human being” adapted to nature and not the other way around, which makes everything more interesting as it doesn't damage nature.
The trail has some ups and downs and with some water the mix has some kind of waterfalls that literally throw water under the trail. After walking for a while, nothing tastes better than carrying a little water under your face. We stopped, cooled off and a few more photos :)
the force of nature projects the water towards the river
the water runs over the rocks making it a cooler place that we can touch with our hands, right from the path.
the drops are thick
Despite it being almost summer there are still many traces of autumn as there were a lot of leaves in the forest where we passed, making it a little slippery, but I found everything much more natural which makes this "one of the best trails I've ever walked" for me.
some places are reminiscent of enchantment films, even the branches themselves are covered in moss, and what it looks like I had to show you
This is one of the biggest waterfalls we can see in the region. As you can see, the trail is full of water. where you must be careful not to slip. Where nature remains unchanged and fresh air dominates, it is ideal for a family stroll.
I hope you like it, until the next post.
Thank you very much for reading 😀
