It was our fourth trip of the year to Koh Chang, Thailand and this trip was in the middle of the rainy season. As we know during monsoons even the clearest emerald waters become muddy so, during Koh Chang's low season, I love visiting the fishing village of Salakphet. One main reason is that the Salakphet Resort and Restaurant has some of the best seafood in the country.

When we got there, our appetites were enormous due to the ferry delays from dangerous water currents. We wasted no time in ordering and the restaurant never disappoints. We started making plans over Regency brandy and as the food came out, we could smell the chef's masterpieces.

At least that's what it seemed like they were to me because of how hungry I was.

The Thai scallop salad and the crab hoi jor (crab meat rolls) were the first to come and first to go. As the other dishes came out, we feasted greatly and my personal favorite was the steamed crabs.

The crab eggs from the crabs were in abundant and their seafood dipping sauce was my ideal flavor.

After dinner, we moved our drinking party to the front of our room and spent the rest of the night laughing the sun away.

Before the sunset, I managed to sneak away for a short time to admire the landscape. I found a very comfortable net chair rest on before heading back to the room and drink some more.

I'm not much of a drinker these days so I always do my ninja moves and sneak away for a few hours. I was happy to sneak away that day because the resort has some of the most impressive scenery on the island.

The greatest joy of all at Salakphet Resort for me was being around the greatest people in the world. On top of that, the staff was excellent and I will continue to return year after year. Yes, the seafood is that amazing.
