Through the mountains of San Pedro de Los Altos [ENG-ESP]

I knew that the mountains around the city of Los Teques, Miranda state (Venezuela), were surely very beautiful because you can see them from afar, but only when I went into them for a hike with a group was that I could check my impression.

Yo sabía que las montañas en los alrededores de la ciudad de Los Teques, estado Miranda (Venezuela), seguramente eran muy bonitas porque se ve a lo lejos, pero sólo cuando me adentré en ellas para hacer una caminata con un grupo fue que pude comprobar mi impresión.

Our hike began in the town of San Pedro de Los Altos, which is near Los Teques, there everything was uphill and landscapes full of crops, these lands are very fertile, here they grow coffee, potatoes, vegetables, flowers, medicinal plants, among other crops.

Nuestra caminata se inició en el pueblo de San Pedro de Los Altos, que queda cerca de Los Teques, por allí todo fue subida y paisajes repletos de sembradíos, estas tierras son muy fértiles, aquí se siembra café, papa, legumbres, flores, plantas medicinales, entre otros cultivos.

The morning was super sunny but as the climate in this region is cool, we still didn’t feel so hot. Many areas of these mountains are affected by fires.

La mañana estaba súper soleada pero como en esta región el clima es fresco, aún no sentíamos tanto calor. Muchas áreas de estas montañas están afectadas por incendios.

As we moved away from civilization we could no longer see houses or other constructions on the hills, some areas of forest appeared between them, giving a bit of greenery to the landscape.

Al irnos alejando de la civilización ya no se veían casas ni otras construcciones en los cerros, aparecieron algunas zonas de bosque entre ellos, dando un poco de verdor al paisaje.

At a certain point the climb became a little less steep and our thighs relaxed a little.

En cierto punto la subida se hizo un poco menos pronunciada y nuestros muslos se relajaron un poco.

When we had about an hour of walking we reached a flat part where there is a spectacular viewpoint towards the towns and cities of this area of Miranda state.

Cuando teníamos como una hora caminando llegamos a una parte plana donde hay un espectacular mirador hacia los pueblos y ciudades de esta zona del estado Miranda.

We rested for a while there, we hydrated and ate something to then continue, there was now a downhill path that led us into a pine forest, which I will show in another photo series.

Descansamos un rato allí, nos hidratamos y comimos algo para luego continuar, venía ahora un camino de bajada que nos condujo hacia un bosque de pinos, el cual mostraré en otra serie fotográfica.
