At a point we thought where to go! So we took right and walked there the trail led us to.
On our way to the magical Rani Sui lake we discover another gem in the Himalayas! A beautiful tiny glacial lake on our way to the Rani Sui Lake. Here is a journey and our experience discovering a hidden gem in the Paradise!
Here we begin!
Julley Everyone.
In this post I will be dividing the post into different sections so that you could have a true picture about the expedition.
The Frozen Glacier

17th June 2024
Making our way over the frozen glacier, A tiny one but everything about it seemed to be same.
The way the snow melts, The way the water makes its way through the glacier everything looked like the same. But in a smaller picture.
We were feeling thirsty and that was the main reason we came over here in search of water as in the whole meadows there was no source of water at this point.
The water which was flowing under the frozen snow is the purest form of water after precipitation. The cold fresh glacial water.
We found something suspicious, A Himalayan Bears footprints. Even the bear used to visit this place in order to drink water as snow was not melted as of now so that a stream could be formed.
The footprint of the bear was even larger than my hand as seen in the picture. This area did not seemed safe to us and without taking a while and thinking much about it we decided to get away from this place. Whenever I see such mysterious thing related to the wildlife of the Himalayan I always seek advice from the locals as once a Shepherd told me when I asked him that what to do when we encounter a Himalayan bear and he answered that the more dangerous once are the mother bear with the cubs, they are the ones who attack directly and at that time we should descend the mountain so that when the bear chases us the slope of the mountain at the time of descending the bears hair comes in front of their eyes so that it makes it difficult for them to see and thats the technique which the shepherds use when a bear chases them and tries to attack.
They even told that we should also make a lot of noise and try to scare the bear if possible. And we should never try to climb a tree in order to protect ourselves as even the bears are good at climbing the trees.
Sometimes walking straight is the right thing in the Mountains...
Wondering where to go..
Heaven everywhere.
In search of a lake in such a paradise we were! So decided to walk straight where the clouds would led us to... To another heaven! To another Paradise!
The places unknown.
Somewhere above the Mahili Thach the top of Shangchar Mountain of Manali.
After encountering the Bears foot prints over the frozen snow on a tiny glacier we decided to be at a place that seemed quite safe. So we decided to walk straight. As told by the people who had been to the Rani Sui lake. The lake was somewhere on the back side of a steep mountain which could be seen right in front of us. But the thing was that behind which mountain would that lake be!
The peaks of the Pir Panjal range of the Himalayas were seen visible from here. The whole Belt of the Mountains. I was truly grateful to see such a majestic view, Looking at the whole Himalayan range from another range. Usually this place used to get covered under the clouds/fog but the climatic conditions of the day of our expedition was with us. We were grateful enough to get a clear view of the Pir Panjal Himalayan Range. So I captured it So that I could even share it with the masses. The true unseen beauty of the Himalayas.
A Whole river sized glacial of snow. Over which we were Walking. It was about more than ten feet in depth. I single dangerous step would even risk our lives.
As walking on the land that I guess no one would have ever been. The people us used to explore the Rani Sui Lake would usually hike over the opposite side of the Manali and the trail that we were taking used to be usually get covered under the snow. These were just the few days that the weather was kinda clear and we planned this expedition.
The view like this seemed like waking up in a dream!
The locals of this place used to say that there are seven lakes in this Range of mountains and very few of them are actually able to find them. Only the ones who are lucky they are able to seen all of the seven lakes.
In the past even various expeditions were planned in order to explore all of the seven lakes. people used the modern technology. GPS, advanced hiking equipment. But Failed.
The colours of the nature could be seen getting blended over here. Maybe a single picture depicting various seasons. The melting of the snow would depict the Rainy season.
The frozen snow would depict the winters, and the the dry portion of the land would depict the summers. The portion of the land which seemed like having a quite lush greens would depict the spring season and the pale yellow grass would depict the fall.
While hiking and enjoying the heavenly view we came across the potion of the land that had been covered up under the patches of snow and it is really very dangerous to even step on a thing like these as nobody knows about the true depth of such patches. One of my friend once tried to walk over a patch like this on his expedition to Deo Tibba 6200M. Everything seemed fine when he stepped on such a path like this but after a while walking few steps on the patch the guy got his feet submerged on inside the snow. I felt like that the depth of the snow seemed never ending. Firstly he told that when he knew that the snow broke and he was sinking in the snow he tried to hold the sided of the portion but everything seemed like it got Broken.
It was a luck that the guy had his legs with the carabiners and a rope so the other team mates all together tried to pull the guy back and he was saved. When they all saw the pit or the hole inside which my friend got into they saw a deep hole inside which water was flowing at at an extreme speed. Sometimes the water makes its way inside so that the water could easily flow.
After hiking for a while we came across a Lake. A lake Unknown. On the opposite side of the Mountain where there is Rani Sui Lake.
The lake was still forming as the snow was melting from the glacier making various colours in the water. We had no idea that we would even find a lake on our way to search the Rani Sui Lake and found another unknown lake.
The colours of the lake seemed like a galaxy so thought of naming it the Galaxy Lake.
So thats all for today guys. I hope you liked it.
All the photographs were captured by me using my iPhone 12.
Thanks for your precious time. 🙏
Love from the Himalayas.❤️
