Good morning hivers, today I'm taking you on one of my most pleasant summer memories, a boat trip near Sirmione, then I'll also do a post dedicated to the city itself where I stayed one day, finding myself very well, a fascinating and magnificent place, but let's talk about the boat trip boat, we arrived near Sirmione with my friend and her son and immediately on the shore of Lake Garda which overlooks Sirmione we found various offers for boat tours near the city, especially around the castle which we obviously visited afterwards . The tours had prices from the most modest to the highest depending on the type of boat and experience you wanted to have, there were larger boats where they offered a boat ride and aperitif or dinner, but we opted for a half-day tour now in a fairly modest boat at twelve euros for adults, ten for the child, the boat was small in fact not suitable for those who suffer from seasickness because you could hear all the splashing of the water even though the lake was quite calm. As soon as we got on we sat down, together with other tourists, we were the only Italians on the boat besides the guide who as soon as we left played typical Italian songs that made the departure even more special, giving the idea of the typical Italian holiday of times gone by.

The boat tour around the Sirmione peninsula particularly wound around the Scaligero Castle, an imposing and fascinating structure surrounded by the lake, a castle that was built for port purposes surrounded by a large dock, our tour started from the Valentino port, one of the Sirmione's prettiest marinas surrounded by trees and with a beautiful promenade on the lake. Once on the boat we slowly set off towards the castle which we circumnavigated in its entire width, the guide told us some historical notes of how the castle is one of the oldest lakeside castles in Italy and also has a fascinating internal basin, of how he was under the noble families of Verona for a long period. Once we saw the sign he took us near the caves of Catullus where old and new spas are located nearby, of course he also took us on a quick tour to admire the magnificent houses overlooking the lake, it was a short but very pleasant tour, I also love boating and so beyond the view I also liked the experience itself. Soon I will make a post entirely dedicated to deepening my visits to the city and the castle. However, if you go to Sirmione in the summer you absolutely must enjoy a boat tour!
