Florence is always always wonderful, unfortunately I don't go there more often like when I was studying there but it remains a place where I always leave my heart, it's about an hour's train ride from where I live, for me going back there is always an emotion, so even on Wednesday I took the train and decided to take a walk through the streets of Florence since the weather is very pleasant I took advantage of it.
As soon as I got off the train I immediately noticed big changes compared to when I studied there, the station is completely different from how I remembered it, much larger and with a beautiful underpass made no longer of writings on worn walls but with beautiful, lively and colorful visual installations, really beautiful, the station has a completely different atmosphere and there are many more shops and activities, but also many more controls and police.
Then I headed towards the center, enjoying the beautiful view of Santa Maria del Fiore, the main and best-known Florentine church, with its classic black and white marbles and centuries of history behind it, especially that relating to the famous Medici family . Also known for Brunelleschi's famous self-supporting dome, an architectural masterpiece and let's not forget Giotto's bell tower. The church has many famous works of art inside which unfortunately I was unable to visit due to the immense queues, but even from the outside the church is stupendous and also the baptistery which has the same style precisely to have a certain architectural homogeneity. The cathedral of Florence is a spectacle that you never get tired of seeing.
Then I went through the beautiful streets of Florence towards a place that I adored as a student, the Oblate library, which has changed little, there are still the arches, the works of art in the courtyard and many students from all over the world to animate the corridors . I spent an hour there wandering among the shelves and rooms very melancholy, then I went back home because it was getting late, I admired the streets teeming with tourists for the umpteenth time and said goodbye to Florence.
