Winter is has arrive in Sweden
It's November, and here in Scandinavian Sweden, the temperature has dropped so low and the town has become filled with Christmas decorations. As the temperature drops and I put on my coat, scarf and warm gloves, I feel once again that winter has finally arrived. In the midst of all this, I decided to visit Stockholm central..well it has been a while since I came here last time. At this time of year in Europe, the city is beautifully redecorated for Christmas, and Christmas markets appear all over the city. I had heard that the big markets are held in the theme park called Skansen and the old town (Gamla Stan) in Stockholm, so I decided to go there.
１１月に入り、ここ北欧スウェーデンではすっかり気温も下がり町は気が付けばすっかりクリスマクのデコレーションで溢れる様になりました。 気温が下がるり、コートを着てマフラーや暖かい手袋をつけると、「あぁ～ついに冬が来たなぁ」とあたらめて感じます。 そんな中、久しぶりにストックホルム市内まで遊びに行くことにしました。 欧州ではこの時期は町がきれいにクリスマスの模様替えをし、そしてクリスマスマーケットと言う市場が市内の至る所に現れます。 大きなマーケットはストックホルム市内ではスカンセンと呼ばれるテーマパークと旧市街（ガムラスタン）で行われると聞いていたので、早速行ってみることにしました。
It's been a while since I've been to Stockholm. I got a little excited 😁. The building that says "Åhlens" is a department store, and it's located right outside of Stockholm Central Station. This is the center of the downtown area and was crowded with many people. And then, after a while, a tram with cute decorations appeared in front of us at just the right time. We were thinking of taking the tram, so we decided to take the specially decorated Christmas tram. So lucky! 😁👏 The inside of the tram was also beautifully decorated for the Christmas theme and it became a nice memory for us. This type of tram is a special tram that only operates during the summer tourist season and now during the Christmas season, and it was the first type of tram to operate in the city. The interior of the tram is made of wood and has a very historical feel to it. It was our first time to take this Christmas decorated version of tram, so yay, it was cool to have this chance to get on it!
久しぶりに来た、ストックホルム市内。 おのずと少しテンションが上がります。 😁 オレーンズ（Ahlens）と書いてある建物はデパートで、ストックホルム中央駅から降りてすぐの所にあります。 ここは繁華街の中心で、たくさんの人で賑わっていました。 そんな中、可愛くデコレーションをしたトラムがタイミングよくわたち達の前に現れました。 ちょうどトラムに乗る予定だったので、その特別デコレーションがされたクリスマス仕様のトラムに乗ってみることにしました。 めっちゃラッキー！ 😁👏 車内もきれいにクリスマスデコレーションされていて、とても良い思い出になりました。 このタイプのトラムは夏の観光シーズンと今のクリスマスシーズンのみに運行される特別なトラムで、トラムが市内で使用が開始されて初めて運用されたタイプのトラムだそうです。 車内はとても歴史を感じる木でできた内容になっています。
Skansen in Stockholm, Sweden
We took the tram from Stockholm Central Station and arrived at our destination, Skansen, in about 15 minutes. We have annual passes, so we showed them to enter and headed inside! There were many Christmas events going on inside Skansen, and a hand-rolled organ welcomed visitors. Although Skansen is kind of a theme park (I do not know how to explain Skansen...it is a historical museum ish place), there are also many Swedish historical buildings on display, and the buildings were relocated directly from the area.
ストックホルム中央駅からトラムに乗って、大体１５分ぐらすると目的地であるスカンセンに到着しました。 わたち達は年間パスを買っているので、それを提示していざ館内へ！ 館内もクリスマスのイベントがたくさん行われていて、手巻きオルガンで入園者を迎えてくれました。 スカンセンはテーマパークではあるのですが、館内にはスウェーデンの歴史建造物もたくさん展示されていて、建物はその地域から直接移設されたものだそうです。
On the way to the Christmas market, I saw a windmill that looked familiar. I hadn't noticed it the last time I was here, but it turned out to be a windmill, the symbol of Öland Island. I felt very nostalgic about my trip to Öland Island this summer. I wish I could go there again! I really had a lot of good memories this year. 😁👏👏
クリスマスマーケット向かう道に見覚えのある風車がありました。 前回来たときは気づかなかったのですが、その風車はオーランド島のシンボルである風車でした。 今年の夏、オオーランド島へ旅行したのがとても懐かしく感じました。 また行ってみたいなぁ～。 本当に今年もたくさん良い思い出ができました。
At last! Christmas market 2021!
And then we were off to the Christmas Market!
There are so many things for sale at the market, it's very exciting just to look at them. Cheese, jams, warm socks and gloves, reindeer pelts, reindeer meat sausages, cookies, chocolates, etc. Many people were shopping and buying Christmas gifts, ornaments and other decorations for Christmas.
Then, the words "Kroppkakor" caught our attention! That's right, they were selling Kroppkakor, a local dish we had in Öland Island! We were so nostalgic that we decided to have some on our way home.
マーケットではたくさんの物が売っていて、見ているだけでもとてもわくわくします。 チーズ、ジャム、暖かそうな靴下に手袋、トナカイの毛皮やトナカイの肉のソーセージ、クッキー、チョコレート、などなど、多くの方が思い思いに買い物を行いクリスマスのプレゼントやクリスマスで使うオーナメントや他の飾りなどを買っていました。
そんな中、わたしたちの目に留まった、「Kroppkakor クロップカーコー」の文字！ そうなんです、オーランド島で食べた郷土料理、クロップカーコーが売っていました！ あまりにも懐かしく、帰りには食べて帰ることにしました。
After going around the Christmas market, we decided to visit a church near the market. It is a Västergötland church built in 1730. I read that it was moved to Skansen in 1916. It had a traditional red color and was made of oak wood, which seemed to be coated with tar as an antiseptic. That weekend was the first weekend of Advent, and there was a chorus event, so we joined in. No photos allowed, but it was a great chorus.
クリスマスマーケットを一通りぐる～っと周り、そしてマーケットの近くにある教会に行ってみることにしました。 １７３０年に建造されたVästergötland ヴェステルイェートランド地方の教会のようで、１９１６年にスカンセンに移転されたと書いていました。 伝統的な赤の色と、オークの木で作られていて防腐剤としてタールを塗っているようでした。 ちょうど、その週末はアドベント（降臨祭）が開始された初めの週末で、コーラスのイベントがあるようなので参加してみました。 撮影は禁止で写真はないのですが、とても素晴らしいコーラスでした👏
Kroppkakor!!
After listening to the chorus, we went back to the Christmas market again and asked for the Kroppkakor It was filled with cream and served with lingonberry jam, which brought back memories of summer. The inside was stuffed with minced meat, similar to Japanese dumplings. Haha. The outside of the dumpling is chewy and has a great texture and is very filling. It was a coincidence that we could eat this in Stockholm, but it made me very happy.
コーラスを聞いた後は、再度クリスマスマーケットを戻り、そしてクロップカーコを頼んでみました。 クリームとたっぷりかけてくれ、添えてくれたリンゴンベリーのジャムと一緒に食べると夏の思い出が蘇りました。 中はひき肉を詰めてあり、スウェーデンの餃子のようです。 外側は餅っとしていて、食感がとてもよく腹持ちもとてもよいです。 ストックホルムでこれを食べれるなんて、偶然ですがとてもうれしくなりました。

I was getting cold, so I warmed myself up a bit with some firewood and decided to head back. On the way back, we entered a building in Skansen that tells the history of Christmas in Sweden and looked at the exhibits. We met a man who looked like Santa Claus explaining about a printing press that was used about 100 years ago, and he gave us a demonstration. He told us that this is how they used to make Christmas cards.
だいぶんと体も冷えてきて、薪で体を少し温め、そして岐路につくことにしました。 帰り道ではスカンセン内にあるスウェーデンのクリスマスの歴史を伝えている建物に入り展示物を見てみました。 １００年ほど前に使用されていた、印刷機を説明しているサンタのようなおじさんに出会い、そこでデモンストレーションしれくれました。 昔はこのようにしてクリスマスカードをつくったんだよ～って話してくれました。
The Omicron has suddenly spread just before Christmas. The corona pandemic is still going on, but I hope we can all take care of each other and have a good New Year's Eve.
クリスマス前になって急に広がってきたオミクロン。。。まだまだコロナ禍が続きますがお互いに感染には気を付けてよい年越しを迎えたいものですねぇ。
