One of the best parts of living in Siem Reap is the number of cats and dogs you get to meet every day. There are so many friendly pets to say hi to that it can make any day better.

The cats of Cambodia are mad cool and make it a great place to live.

My Adopted Bud

I've been lucky to adopt a stray here. His name is Sunshine but I usually just call him The Cat. He's a street/stay cat and still spends most of his days wandering the streets of Siem Reap but always comes home to chill and relax.

We tried keeping him indoors but he wasn't having it. No matter how hard we tried he would beg to go outside. I've just accepted the fact that I have to regularly clean and maintain him since he's out in the mud and jungle half the day.

He loves sitting on my computer and interrupting work for the day but I'm fine with it. Too much work ruins my day anyway.

Stray Cats in Siem Reap

Unfortunately, strays are a major problem in Siem Reap and Cambodia. There are so many pets without homes that live a tough life on the streets. It's hard to not want to take them all home and care for them.

Would you like to help? There are plenty of places that offer foster and adoptions in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

Here are a few places to get started...
