Hello everyone, Welcome back to my today's travel bog on this community. Travelfeed is very deserve place for share our travel experience and take more tourism attraction to our locations where we traveled. In this blog I'm going to sharing most historical landmark name called Kaludiya pond where it built Mihintale Anuradhapura area those days.
After looked above image you can take imagine seriously this is a real historical place with stone upstairs. Nowadays stairs made from concrete. But old days it was made from only stones. Those stairs so strong and couldn't weighted alone or easily. Actually I felt I was in Sigiriya.
We came here after worshiping Anuradhapura. If so, you can come to Mihintale after twelve kilometers on the Anuradhapura-Trincomalee road. Buses from Anuradhapura to Trincomalee and Anuradhapura to Galenbindunuwewa can reach Mihintale in a short time.
As a Sri Lankan Buddhist, I understand the religious and historical significance of the Mihintale sacred area. Buddhism was introduced to Sri Lanka in the historical Mihintale with the arrival of the Thero. As such, Mihintale is at a critical juncture in the history of Buddhism. Therefore, it is important to pay homage to Mihintale once and for all. If you come to Mihintale you will have the opportunity to see many archaeological ruins not only religiously.
>*Some legends about the Kaludiya Pond in Mihintale are said to be about one hundred and seventy feet or so. Some information indicates that the bottom of the cone is shaped like a cone. But there is no mention of anyone who dived here and measured the depth. It is said that this is one of the strongholds which are said to exist in Sri Lanka. It is mentioned in many theories that this place was used by the great kings of Rawana to connect with the universe.*
Exactly after looked kaludiya pond I felt some mysterious shape from this. However we can be proud about this architectural creations when built those days. Behind the pond highest mountain located. So perfect place for take rest under the shades.
Anyone visiting the Kaludiya Pond can see the seating area around the pond. These are set up for the meditating living monks. They are only focus for do meditation. Surrounded environment give useful service to their purposes.
There are two parking areas for anyone visiting Mihintale. There is also a toilet system for sanitary facilities. There is no need to create a problem. It is said that the magnetic field changes near some places. Clearly, there is a big meaning behind history. I can still see the beautiful and mysterious ponds we just saw. Thanks for reading. See you again.
