After what has been pretty atrocious weather for the past few weeks, we were finally blessed with a beautiful Sunday morning.

Much to my wifes displeasure I gave her a tap on the shoulder at 4:30am and told her that we were going for a drive. As the coffee kicked in she became a little more accommodating to the idea of a spontaneous drive, and as we reached the Noosa National Park in an instant it became totally worth it.

Noosa National Park is situated 120km North of Brisbane, Queensland. There are an array of different walkways, in which we embarked on a 6km return coastal walk out to the famous Hells Gates, one of the most popular treks.

It was about 6.30am when we started our walk as we headed around the Noosa Coast. The walk is nice and easy, and there is plenty of room to share it with other walkers, and of course runners who love it too. 

Tea Tree Bay, a perfect place to stop for a morning swim. It’s also a popular entry spot for kayakers, as it is right near the beginning of the trail.

We made a brief stop at Tea Tree Bay, and wondered down to the golden sand. We soaked up the views of the ocean and vegetation. On the return leg of our journey we stopped here again, and couldn't resist a quick dip to refresh after the 2 hour walk.

Granite Bay is another accessible beach, which is extremely popular with surfers as it often gets decent swells. Turtles and Dolphins are also regularly spotted here, and in the winter months if your lucky enough you might even stumble across some humpback whales in migration.

Eventually after about an hours leisurely walk, we reached Hells Gates, and the views up there were incredible. Pictures never really do it justice, especially when I'm behind the camera, just ask my wife.

This was as far as we walked around today. The Coastal Walk continues further beyond this point all the way around to Sunshine Beach, for those feeling more adventurous. By this time my wife was hungry, so for my own safety we headed back along the path we came in, enjoying the beautiful ocean views a final time.

All in all, its an extremely easy walk and an amazing way to start your day. The views are truly stunning, amplified by the glistening sun projecting itself on the crystal blue waters. We had an awesome morning, and it won't be the last time we're back here. How beautiful is Noosa Heads, Sunshine Coast.
