Pakistan has been declared the top holiday destination for travelers in 2020 by the United States based publication Conde Nast Traveler. Pakistan has received this position after getting several positive reviews by travel bloggers, vloggers and magazines etc. So I decided to show some colors of Pakistan in my this post. As I frequently visit Lok Virsa Mela which is held in Islamabad where a big gathering of artisans and folk artists is arranged for several days. In this event you can see every color of Pakistan covering all provinces and even remote areas.

In Lok Virsa mela a special area is allocated to every Provence like Punjab, Sindh, KPK, Balochistan, Gilgit baltistan and Kashmir. In these different pavilions you can enjoy different local food, music, dance and also see the artisan work and can buy some souvenirs. Thousands of people visit this event on daily basis and a large number of foreigners also visit to see all Pakistani culture at one place.

In dances you can see the Sindhi dance, Pujabi dhol performances, luddi dance, KPK Attan dance, Makrani lewa dance and balochi dance and you also enjoy Thar dancers who dance with fire stick. In evening this mela is in its full swing, all packed and at every corner some thing interesting is happening. In Lok Virsa mela different places are allocated for performances. In every pavilion they have a performance area and main stage area where hundreds of people are present to enjoy their performance.

Different folk artists perform and you can also enjoy instrumental music like Dambora, Rubab, chimta and Alghoza whose only some players are left in Pakistan. Unique music instrument which is played with steel wires. As all national and international media cover this event and these folk artists also participate in TV shows and showcase their talent. So many folk artist get fame.

All these folk artists and dancers wear their traditional dresses. You can see the color full artisan work in these dresses. Famous Ajrak work, Sindhi Topi, Punjabi Lungi etc are very visible work you can see.

Lok Virsa Mela is a must visit event if you are in Pakistan. In Lok Virsa you can also visit Lok Virsa Heritage Museum in which you see all cultural evolution of this area in a visual way. Insha Allah in my next post I will show you Lok Virsa museum's pictures highlight.
