Hello, dear travel enthusiasts. Today we came to a very interesting farm. When I first heard about this farm, I knew I had to visit. Today we are guests of the alpacas.

The farm we visited is located near the city of Berga. I want to share the beautiful view from the farm with you. The farm is situated in the mountains. There is a bit of fog today, but the reservoir lake is clearly visible.

After we arrived, we waited for our tour to begin. The story of this farm began about 10 years ago. The owner was watching an alpaca program and said to her husband, "Let's get an alpaca." Her husband didn't understand and asked "Is that a vegetable?" As their conversation progressed, they decided to give it a try and started looking for alpacas. They first got two female and one male alpaca, thus laying the foundation of the farm.

There's also a cow here, complete with a bell. Besides the alpacas there are two llamas living on the farm.Llamas have different ear shapes and facial features and are generally taller. There are also chickens enjoying themselves here.

When the tour started we were given information about the alpacas habits, characters, names, ages and what they like. Afterwards we fed the alpacas and took them for a walk. Alpacas are very interesting creatures. They have three types of spit. When mildly annoyed, they spit just air. The second type is spitting with food from their mouths. The third and most serious is spitting the contents of their stomachs to ward off an enemy.

Later I became the leader of the walking group. My alpaca, Barnabi and I started walking slowly, almost like walking a dog. We all went for a walk together, my friend joined us as well. Our group was very small. There are currently 18 alpacas and two llamas living on this farm. Llamas and alpacas do not like being alone. If you want to own an alpaca, you should get at least three or four alpacas. There is also a pregnant alpaca on the farm right now.

Our walk took place on a beautiful mountain path. It was very hot today, 32 degrees and July is not the best time to visit because of the heat. The farm is only accessible by car, there is no public transport. But you can rent a car in Barcelona, tour Catalonia and see beautiful places.

We came to a very beautiful place. There is also a horse farm next door. You can go for a ride with horses here as well.

We were told on the farm that alpacas and llamas are very intelligent. They always have designated toilet spots and only do their business there.

Alpacas look very cute. We had lunch on a beautiful summer terrace with alpacas next to us. There is also a very nice lounge inside where you can sit if the weather is cold or rainy. There are many accessories everywhere.

Alpacas are very popular as pets because each animal can produce up to 4 kg of wool per year. When sheared they look half as thin. Everything is as it should be on a good farm. Alpacas are very sweet animals. You can approach them and take photos, but you shouldn’t disturb them because an alpaca might spit at you at any time. Speaking of the cost of visiting the farm, it’s 20 euros for a 1.5-hour walk for adults. As another option you can choose the walk and lunch package. We chose this option and the price varies depending on the meal you choose. For example, a cheese platter is 16 euros.

After lunch we watched what the alpacas ate. They gave us small cups to feed them. There was a mix of seeds, bran and various nutrients. Before leaving the farm, we fed the alpacas one last time.

Finally we ended our tour with these beautiful alpacas. They came to say goodbye to all of us. We closed the gates and left. We really liked this place. I recommend you try it. You can have a good lunch here, drink tea, coffee and cold beer. There’s no need to bring anything with you; everything is available here. That's all for today. Until our next travel post, see you soon.
