Perhaps no one is better than travellers to be aware of that wise popular saying that states, categorically, that time does not pass, but rather flies.
Summer is over and autumn, with its temperamental character, is about to suffer the same fate, metaphorically swallowed by that other door, that of the winter solstice, which marks one of the most anticipated events by almost everyone: Christmas.
Spain, like many other countries in the world, has never been left behind and despite the opinions, shared or dissenting, has always known how to celebrate Christmas with style, pomp and circumstance.
Perhaps for this reason, the influx of travellers to Madrid causes special expectation at this time, when the city is covered in lights and spectacle and the popular traditional Christmas markets open the door to illusion.
Of course, the most important of all of them, the one that has been traditionally celebrated since the 17th century until today, is the spectacular Christmas market that is sheltered in the heart of another of the great historical and cultural landmarks of our city: the Plaza Mayor.
With its more than one hundred stalls, where even collectors can find unique pieces for family nativity scenes, which, after all, have never lost their relevance in most Spanish homes, the Plaza Mayor market will become, from next November 28th until midnight on December 31st, another of the great landmarks, which, like every year, will attract thousands of visitors to share the magic of these dates, which, for sure, will be a great stimulus even to forget for a while the miseries that surround us.
One of the most popular places in Madrid, which now, more than ever, everyone will be delighted to know and most importantly, to enjoy.
