Hello dear friends of the Hive community,
This morning I felt like going for a walk in my neighbourhood, here in Meknes. It has to be said that spring is well and truly here, and the generous rainfall of recent weeks in Morocco, especially in the north of the country, has completely transformed the landscape. Everything has become alive, colourful, fragrant and quite simply beautiful. It's as if nature herself were saying to us: ‘Look at what I'm able to offer you, free of charge, with simplicity’.
As I took a leisurely walk, I was amazed by the diversity of the flowers I came across. Frankly, I didn't expect to find so many, especially in a neighbourhood I know by heart. And yet there were colours that I hadn't seen for a long time: delicate pink, bright yellow, mysterious purple... wild flowers and others planted by the locals, each with its own shape and particularity. It was a real visual and olfactory festival.
I stopped several times, just to admire. In some places, it was as if the pavements themselves had decided to bloom. I took a few photos, of course, to keep a souvenir of the morning, but also to share them with you. Because I know that many of you, like me, love these simple moments when we reconnect with nature, even in the middle of the city.
A few days ago, while leafing through Eckhart Tolle's book A New Earth, I came across an idea that touched me deeply. He explained that for thousands of years, flowers have not just been there to beautify our environment... They also carry a symbolic, almost sacred message. According to him, they remind us of something essential: our true nature. A pure, eternal, spiritual nature. What we are beyond the daily hustle and bustle, beyond our thoughts and worries. And what I found particularly beautiful was this simple but powerful idea: sometimes all you have to do is look at a flower attentively, really contemplate it... to reconnect with the present moment. And when you're fully in the moment, without thinking or analysing, you come face to face with yourself, with what you are at the deepest level: a living, conscious, peaceful being.
What I love about spring in Meknes is its discreet magic. You don't see it coming, but one day you realise that everything has changed: the trees have put on their new foliage, the birds are singing louder, and the flowers appear like gifts from heaven. And it's all thanks to the rain. Yes, really, we can only thank God for this generosity. You only have to open your eyes to see that life is beautiful.
This walk did me a lot of good. It reminded me that sometimes you just have to get out of your house, slow down a bit, look around... and you'll find wonders. You don't always have to go far. Just a quick look around your neighbourhood on a spring morning. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope you enjoyed the photos!
See you soon for another post!
