Hi, dear Steemians!

Today I want to show you several ancient wooden churches from the museum Kostromskaya Sloboda. It's located in Prosvesheniya street 1B, Kostroma.
It's one of the oldest open-air museums in Russia which includes real masterpieces of wooden architecture.

It's very difficult to describe such places and buildings. Everything was written in Wiki. But photos can show the atmosphere or the place. We can imagine life of simple people in the past. The life in the village was hard those days. Even the fronts of the churches reflect it. If churches in big cities were made of stone and decorated richly, the churches in the village were simpler and poorer. But inside you fell peace and quite. Such a church gives a feeling of home and safety.

It's the Church Of Ilya The Prophet

I like its dome. Colours of church domes have special meanings. For example, green simbolizes the color of the Holy spirit.

It's very comfortable that there are signs with information in both languages (Russian and English) in frot of the buildings.
